Ahead of APC Campaign rally today in Bekwarra Local Gov’t Area, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has received scores of prominent opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Members/Supporter’s in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, including the ward chairman of Beten. The defectors  Mr. Mathew Oko, Peter Odama, Mrs Angela Oko, Godwin Achoda Bisong, Cecilia Odey, Samuel Okpodu, Ekunke Igbagri, others,   were received by Hon.(Prince) Edward Ajang, the Candidate of the party cum Member representing Bekwarra state constituency in the Cross River House of Assembly. They also said that they joined APC sequel to the ”visible performances of Hon. Eddy the APC Legislator and other political appointees. They commended APC for fielding credible candidates for the 2023 General Elections.

Reports say Nigerian side Lobi Stars are making move for Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo in what appears to be a good thing, maintaining that the club have made contacts with the player/his representatives. The former Real Madrid forward’s contract was terminated by Manchester United earlier in the week after the Portuguese interview with journalist Piers Morgans where he lashed out at Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag, and others. Aware of the situation, the Makurdi-based side said the 37-year-old the club have plans to move for Ronaldo. “Please be informed that  #WeAreLobi  may make contact with representatives of  #CristianoRonaldo  following his release from Manchester United,” the Nigeria Professional Football League reportedly said in a tweet on their verified handle late Wednesday. “We wish him the best &  #LobiStars  will make no further comment on this.”

The Saudi Arabian national team caused one of the biggest upsets at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar by defeating Lionel Messi's Argentina 2 - 1 in the opening game of the tournament on Tuesday, November 22. Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has announced his retirement from professional football after 20 years. Obi disclosed his retirement on Tuesday on his social media account. He retired at the age of 35 with laurels won for both clubs and country, including Nations Cup, and Champions League, among others. Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has been banished from first-team training. Sportsmail reports that the player will continue to be exiled from Mikel Arteta’s plans until the end of 2021 at the earliest. Aubameyang’s future with the Gunners is looking increasingly bleak, after he was stripped of the club captaincy on Monday. Arsenal in an official statement, cited his “latest disciplinary breach”. The 32-year-old has not been involved in first-team training at the club’s London Colney HQ this week. Instead, Aubameyang has been training alone, away from the squad. Arteta confirmed on Friday that the Gabon striker would not be considered for the weekend game at Leeds.  And it is understood his non-inclusion will continue until he departs for the Africa Cup of Nations duty at the end of the month. A date for Aubameyang’s release for the tournament is still to be agreed. But the forward is understandably keen to leave for international duty as soon as possible.
