Ahead of APC Campaign rally today in Bekwarra Local Gov’t Area, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has received scores of prominent opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Members/Supporter’s in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, including the ward chairman of Beten. The defectors  Mr. Mathew Oko, Peter Odama, Mrs Angela Oko, Godwin Achoda Bisong, Cecilia Odey, Samuel Okpodu, Ekunke Igbagri, others,   were received by Hon.(Prince) Edward Ajang, the Candidate of the party cum Member representing Bekwarra state constituency in the Cross River House of Assembly. They also said that they joined APC sequel to the ”visible performances of Hon. Eddy the APC Legislator and other political appointees. They commended APC for fielding credible candidates for the 2023 General Elections.

The National Grid has collapsed for the sixth time in nearly seven months this year. It has not been unable to receive bulk electricity from the national supply line. “Dear Customers, we regret to inform you of a system collapse on the National grid at precisely 11:27 am today, Wednesday, July 20. We are in talks with the Transmission Company of Nigeria to ascertain the cause of the collapse and a possible restoration timeline. We will keep you updated on the situation,” the Disco said. Dana Air Boeing 737 aircraft with the registration number, 5N DNA has made an emergency landing on approach at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport following an issue with one of its engines. Actress Ada Ameh dies in Delta hospital She died in Warri, Delta State around 11 pm on Sunday, a source who pleaded anonymity said on Monday morning. Ameh was said to have been a guest of an oil company toyshop and his family when she suddenly collapsed. She was rushed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s hospital but passed on before they arrived at the facility. Lapnaija gathered that several movie stars have been trooping the facility on Monday morning to see her remains. Ameh, who played the role of Anita in the movie ‘Domitilla’ in 1996, is famous for her comic characters, especially in the series The Johnsons. Born on May 15, 1974, in Ajegunle, Lagos, the popular actress shared a video of her eating with the family around 12:53 pm on Sunday on her official Instagram page.

DISASTER: Mudslide Kills 4 Siblings In Cross River

Mudslide has killed four children of the same parents in the Okangbang community near Nasarawa town in Calabar Municipality, Cross River State. The incident was said to have occurred Sunday evening after a heavy downpour. The flood brought down the house where the four children were having their dinner and buried them instantly. The physically challenged father, Ndifreke Nkanta, confirmed the incident and said his two other children in the building at the time sustained varying degrees of injury and were admitted in a hospital. He said, “I have lost four out of my six children who were in the house that collapsed on them as a result of the mudslide. They were eating when the house collapsed on them. “My other two children are in critical conditions in the hospital. I did not take even a pin from the house when the flood swept it away. “I have no money even to pay the bills for the surviving two. I have nowhere to live. I appeal for public support.

BREAKING: Fire razes major market in Ebonyi

Tragedy struck in Afikpo town of Ebonyi State in the late hours of Tuesday when a section of the popular Eke market was razed. Goods worth millions, including shops, were destroyed by the fire outbreak though no life was lost. The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained but the traders who were taken unawares made frantic efforts to salvage their goods without success because of the intensity of the fire. It was learnt that the Ebonyi State Gore Service station in Afikpo could not mobilise to quench the raging inferno because its equipment was not functioning This made the youths of the area to mobilise and stop the fire from escalating. Chairman of Afikpo North Local Government Area, Oby Oko Enyim, visited the scene around 6:35am on Wednesday. The affected building said to have been abandoned is located at No 15, Oke Arin Street, Ilupeju Palm Grove. Confirming the incident in a statement, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said the structure collapsed to ground zero in the early hours of the day. It explained that no life was lost to the incident, although one man was injured, adding that the building had been cordoned off. “Further investigation revealed that the incident occurred at about 12:45 am due to aging of the structure,” LASEMA said in the situation report. “Fortunately, no loss of life. “However, one adult male sustained a minor injury and has been taken to the hospital.
