Ahead of APC Campaign rally today in Bekwarra Local Gov’t Area, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has received scores of prominent opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Members/Supporter’s in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, including the ward chairman of Beten. The defectors  Mr. Mathew Oko, Peter Odama, Mrs Angela Oko, Godwin Achoda Bisong, Cecilia Odey, Samuel Okpodu, Ekunke Igbagri, others,   were received by Hon.(Prince) Edward Ajang, the Candidate of the party cum Member representing Bekwarra state constituency in the Cross River House of Assembly. They also said that they joined APC sequel to the ”visible performances of Hon. Eddy the APC Legislator and other political appointees. They commended APC for fielding credible candidates for the 2023 General Elections.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has recounted the condition that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, gave former president, Goodluck Jonathan, in 2015. He said when Jonathan went to plead for Atiku’s support in London ahead of the 2015 election, the latter told him to relinquish his presidential ticket. Speaking at the inauguration of the Akpabu-Itu-Umudiogha-Egbeda Road in Emohua local government area of Rivers State, on Tuesday, Wike said he never made such “selfish” request of Atiku. 2023: Gov. Ortom, Benue Elders, PDP Chieftains Withdraw Support For Atiku.

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom on Tuesday appeared to withdraw his support for the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar. Mr Ortom accused the PDP candidate of dishonoring him as Governor and working against the interest of Benue residents. His comments came after a group of elder statesmen in Benue, Minda Leaders of Thoughts, also withdrew their support for Atiku over alleged hate speech and profiling of Benue people. Mr Ortom appeared to have been incensed over Atiku’s comments on the recent killings by suspected herdsmen in Benue state. He accused Atiku of working with Miyetti Allah, a herdsmen group with a militant arm. “It was not correct for a presidential candidate who is seeking to rule the people to say that kind of thing,” Mr Ortom said on Tuesday at the Chapel of Grace, Government House, Makurdi. “It was very wrong.
