Ahead of APC Campaign rally today in Bekwarra Local Gov’t Area, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has received scores of prominent opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Members/Supporter’s in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, including the ward chairman of Beten. The defectors  Mr. Mathew Oko, Peter Odama, Mrs Angela Oko, Godwin Achoda Bisong, Cecilia Odey, Samuel Okpodu, Ekunke Igbagri, others,   were received by Hon.(Prince) Edward Ajang, the Candidate of the party cum Member representing Bekwarra state constituency in the Cross River House of Assembly. Watch Videos ⬇️  The new APC members cited alleged injustice within PDP, as well as Governor Ayade’s developmental strides in Bekwarra. They also said that they joined APC sequel to the ”visible performances of Hon. Eddy the APC Legislator and other political appointees. They commended APC for fielding credible candidates for the 2023 General Elections.

There was a fire incident on Adeola Odeku Street in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State on Tuesday.  Read also:  PDP Suspends Activities Over Death of Singer, Davido’s Son . According to eyewitnesses, the fire started from a structure housing a generator and spilled onto the road where it consumed a parked police car. Many Feared Dead, Others Injured As Fire Outbreak Rocks Lagos State.

A Fire outbreak in Victoria Island, Lagos on Tuesday morning, November 1, has claimed the lives of yet-to-be specified number of persons.  The fire which went off besides Keystone bank at Adeola Odeku also left many injured and several cars and properties razed. Dark day for Davido, Chioma as son drowns in swimming pool

Ifeanyi Adeleke, the 3 year old son of Music star, Davido and his fiancee, Chioma Rowland has sadly died. The tragic death occured on Monday, October 31.  Ifeanyi died by drowning at his dad's Banana Island home. He was rushed to Evercare Hospital in Lekki where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The couple had traveled for a family gathering to Ibadan yesterday and had left Ifeanyi with his minders who can't explain how he entered the pool without being noticed and drowned.  We gathered that some of the people at Davido's House when the incident happened have been arrested.  A distraught and inconsolable Davido was removed from Evercare Hospital and taken to his father's house where he remains as at press time. Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday visited victims of flooding in some communities in Bayelsa state. Jonathan paid a visit to Otuoke, his hometown in Bayelsa, and some other communities in the state. In a caption accompanying the photos he shared on Facebook, he sympathised with the victims and called for urgent action and collaboration by all stakeholders to tackle the flood crisis currently plaguing the nation. “I sympathize with the victims of this year’s flood across many states of the federation who have lost loved ones and properties worth millions. The worsening humanitarian crisis in the affected states calls for urgent action and collaboration by all stakeholders”, he wrote. VIDEO: C’River Residents Ignore Explosion Threat, Scoop Fuel From Fallen Tanker In Awi.

There was palpable fear Today, in Awi Community in Akamkpa LGA, Cross River State, as some residents defied possible explosion to scoop petroleum product from the scene of a fallen tanker. LAPNAIJA blog obtained reports that the incident reportedly occurred in the morning as the tanker laden with 33,000 litres petrol tanker overturned and fell on the road. Eyewitness account said despite the presence of security operatives in the area, the residents scooping the fuel continued unabated. God is responsible for all the floods in Nigeria — Minister of water resources

The minister of water resources, Suleiman Adamu, has said 80 percent of the floods in Nigeria are caused by rainfall and not Cameroon’s Lagdo dam as widely believed. Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, October 19, Adamu said: “All these stories I’ve been seeing on social media, I just laugh, because they are misleading.  The contribution of the Lagdo dam to flooding in this country is only one percent. Sometimes they release the water without notice and when they do that, it has impact on communities downstream. But it is not the main reason we have floods in this country — 80 percent of the floods in this country is water that we are blessed with from God from the sky. This year’s flood, I can assure you, we cannot blame it on Cameroon to be sincere. We’ll continue to have floods on the river Niger and Benue basins. A section of the Onuebum Road leading to Otuoke, former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s home town in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has been taken over by flood, LAPNAIJA BLOG  gathered. Motorists, especially private car owners, are now forced to travel through Elebele Road to access Otuoke community, host to a federal university. Also, petty traders operating along the Otuoke-Onuebum Road have been sacked by the rising water level from the adjoining forest. The road is the closest route for residents of Azikoro, Agbura, Otuokpoti and several other communities in Yenagoa to access Otuoke. Some community youths had done palliative work on the failed portion of the road before flood submerged it. The youths were sighted, yesterday, directing vehicles away from the deeper parts of the flooded area.
