A mother-of-two, identified as Mrs. Blessing Eno, has been arrested by the police in Cross River State for allegedly beheadding her 11-month-old son in the Yonen community of Ugep, Yakurr LGA of the state. The unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday, November 29. Vanguard reports that the suspect, who may be suffering from Schizophrenia (Mental Disorder), took out a matchet and cut  off the head of the baby, claiming that the child was disturbing her and a spirit instructed her to slaughter the boy. Information reaching us says that former PDP National Chairman Is Dead A former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Vincent Ogbulafor, is dead . He was aged 73. He died peacefully early Friday morning, according to family sources. ‘‘Dede Ukwu, Hon. Vin. Ogbulafor passed on last night. He died in Canada,’’ a message from his relative revealed on Friday night. Known for his frequent controversial statements, Ogbulafor was very influential during his time as PDP scribe and later Chairman. ”Chief Vincent Ogbulafor KSM really died in the early hours of today in Canada at 73. The Royal Family of Ogbulafor will announce a date for the burial ceremonies, which will most likely take place next year,” Chief Goddy Uwazurike, a lawyer and close associate of the deceased said. We’ll continue to borrow, sell National assets to fund 2023 budgets - President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the 2023 budget deficit of N10.78 trillion would be funded by borrowing, sales of national assets and project-specific loans. Buhari made the revelation, on Friday, while presenting the Appropriation Bill of N20.51 trillion for 2023 to the Senate and the House of Representatives at a joint session of the National Assembly.   Read also:  ASUU loses again as Court Of Appeal orders it’s members to open varsities immediately The budget includes N2.42 trillion spending by government-owned enterprises. It is also about N3 trillion higher than the 2022 budget. Meanwhile, if government will spend N6.31 trillion from the about N9 trillion left to service outstanding debts, it will leave N3 trillion that will be easily gulped by fuel subsidy.

BBNaija Announces Next Audition Date

The BBNaija Level Up show recently came to an end and the organisers have now announced a new season called Big Brother Titans. Big Brother Titans is set to bring Nigerians and South Africans together on one show. They called for auditions from Nigerians and South Africans from the age of 21 to participate. Auditions are set to take place from October 6 to 22, 2022, while the show launches in 2023. Just like in BBNaija auditions, the interested participants for Big Brother Titans are to upload a two-minute audition video while also filling out an online form. The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to call off its ongoing strike action with immediate effect.  ASUU, who has been on strike since February 14, 2022, had dragged the federal government before the court after the National Industrial Court (NIC) ordered an end to its ongoing strike action. Ruling on the appeal on Friday, October 7, the court said the only condition that the union’s request will be given effect is if its members ended the strike action immediately pending the determination of the substantive suit. The court gave ASUU seven days within which to file the appeal following the obedience of the ruling of the lower court.

Leader of the group, General Do-Good claimed they’ve been marginalized for long. General Do-Good who insisted that oil is not only located in Ijaw communities in the South-South regions of the country, claimed the people of Isoko South of Delta state have been sidelined from oil deals in the region.  He concluded by threatening to blow up oil wells in Isoko South if government does not negotiate with them within 24 hours. Lapnaija blog gathered that the once Africa’s biggest street party, Calabar Carnival 2022 first dry run has been scheduled to hold on Sunday, 16th of October. Mr. Eric Anderson, Cross River State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, and the Executive Secretary of the State Carnival Commission, Evangelist Austin Cobham jointly disclosed the government’s readiness to make this year’s carnival unique. While speaking at the unveiling and presentation of a certificate of registration to one of the newly added bands – the Calas Vegas band on Wednesday in Calabar, Mr. Eric in a pep talk noted that there was a need to add two bands because “the non-competing bands are more than the competing bands.” “On behalf of His Excellency, Sen. Ben Ayade, commits that the carnival will be held this year starting with the first dry run next week, and I will encourage every band to hit the street for the exercise,” he assured. Affirming the Commissioner’s assertion, the Executive Secretary of Cross River
