A mother-of-two, identified as Mrs. Blessing Eno, has been arrested by the police in Cross River State for allegedly beheadding her 11-month-old son in the Yonen community of Ugep, Yakurr LGA of the state. The unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday, November 29. Vanguard reports that the suspect, who may be suffering from Schizophrenia (Mental Disorder), took out a matchet and cut  off the head of the baby, claiming that the child was disturbing her and a spirit instructed her to slaughter the boy. President Muhammadu Buhari has asked community and religious leaders to condemn and stand up against killings in the South-East. VIDEO: Security operatives intercept over 150 Terrorists hiding under rice bags headed southern Nigeria

Men of the Ondo State security network agency, the Amotekun Corps, have apprehended over 150 suspected Terrorists of northern extraction in Akure, the state capital. The persons were intercepted around 6:30 am on Thursday, along the Akure/Ado-Ekiti Highway during a stop and search operation by the corps. The drivers of the two trucks conveying the invaders claimed they are coming from Abuja, Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa states to Ondo State. CLICK HERE TO WATCH VIDEO  While addressing newsmen in Akure about the incident, the Commander of Amotekun in Ondo State, Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that they hid under bags of rice and beans in the trucks, noting that they could not tell their mission in the state. He added that some charms and photographs were found on them while the motorcycles in their possession did not have valid papers. Adeleye explained that the travelers will be interrogated and profiled before sending them back to their bases.

VIDEO   The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the trial of PC Okoi Liyomo, a policeman caught flogging a man with cutlass in Cross River State. Early this week, the social media was awash with the video of the policeman, using the side of a cutlass to flog an individual, which attracted the attention of the authorities of the Nigerian Police Force. In a tweet, the force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, said Liyomo met the IGP in Abuja on Thursday and will face trial over the incident.
