A mother-of-two, identified as Mrs. Blessing Eno, has been arrested by the police in Cross River State for allegedly beheadding her 11-month-old son in the Yonen community of Ugep, Yakurr LGA of the state. The unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday, November 29. Vanguard reports that the suspect, who may be suffering from Schizophrenia (Mental Disorder), took out a matchet and cut  off the head of the baby, claiming that the child was disturbing her and a spirit instructed her to slaughter the boy.   Troops of 13 Brigade operating under command of 82 Division, Nigerian Army on Tuesday 21 June 2022, intercepted a Toyota Camry car with registration number JAL 492 AA, ladened with assorted amunition while enroute Utanga village towards Obudu Mountains in Cross River State. Troops deployed at Forward Operating Base Amana attempted to stop the vehicle at their checkpoint but the driver evaded the checking and zoomed off. The drivers recalcitrance compelled the troops to open fire on the tyres of the vehicle, thereby immobilizing it.  A thorough search conducted on the vehicle revealed it was conveying 72 Improvised Explosive Device chargers, 121 Dynamite Liquid, 200 rounds of 7.62 mm (NATO) and 82 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition. Other items recovered in the intercepted vehicle are military uniforms and kits.   President Muhammadu Buhari has ruled out the possibility of heeding calls by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank and other leading economists to remove fuel subsidy. The President said this in an interview he granted Bloomberg with the transcripts made available to the press by his media office in Abuja. With fresh fuel scarcity biting across the country, he said though his administration planned to remove fuel subsidy last year, further consultation with stakeholders, as well as events, which unfolded this year, made the move increasingly untenable. Defending his government’s retention of fuel subsidy against the advice of experts, Buhari said: “Most western countries are today implementing fuel subsidies.   Police officer to face disciplinary action for extorting N400,000 from a citizen A Twitter user had come on the app to cry for help after the officers allegedly stopped him and extorted the money from him. The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stepped into the case and after a detailed investigation, the erring officers were arrested.  Hundeyin apologised to the Twitter user and added that the officers will face disciplinary action.

Elon Musk's son is completely changing his identity to distance himself from his father.   Xavier Alexander Musk, who has a twin named Griffin, turned 18 in April 2022.  Almost immediately after his birthday, Xavier filed a petition with the courthouse to change his gender to female and name to Vivian.  The Blast obtained the documents from the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County at the time of their release but did not publish the documents right away to give Vivian time to come out on her own.  However, the documents have started making their way around Twitter.  Vivian's hearing is scheduled for this Friday, June 24.  Xavier Alexander Musk is requesting to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson.
