A mother-of-two, identified as Mrs. Blessing Eno, has been arrested by the police in Cross River State for allegedly beheadding her 11-month-old son in the Yonen community of Ugep, Yakurr LGA of the state. The unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday, November 29. Vanguard reports that the suspect, who may be suffering from Schizophrenia (Mental Disorder), took out a matchet and cut  off the head of the baby, claiming that the child was disturbing her and a spirit instructed her to slaughter the boy. As the 2023 general election draws nearer, Lapnaija blog gathered that major political parties will today officially begin their campaign seasons.

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had fixed September 28 as the official date for campaigns by political parties to begin.

18 Presidential candidates will from today begin the process of convincing Nigerians to vote for them and their political parties. The candidates will seek to convince the 96.3 million voters why they deserve to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock from May 29, 2023.

According to INEC’s timetable, the presidential and National Assembly elections will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, followed by the governorship and State Assembly elections on Saturday, March 11, 2023.
